Wörlitz Palace is the oldest surviving Neo Classical building in Germany. It was built between 1769 and 1773 by Friedrich Wilhelm von Erdmannsdorff. Prince Leopold III, the founder of Wörlitz Park, used the palace as a summer residence. He set about constructing the landscaped gardens and other features around the grounds. The palace has always been open to visitors since it was first built. They can come and see the splendid rooms and décor, and wander the gardens.
