The Stadtschloss in the centre of Wiesbaden was built in a Late Classical style in 1841 by the Duke of Nassau, who used it as his private residence. Since Wiesbaden became the capital of the state of Hesse, the building has been used as the seat of the State Parliament since 1946. Tours of the chambers are available on the first Saturday of each month, but it is otherwise not open to the public other than on business.
