The Dom (Cathedral) of St. Marien is the principal sight in Zwickau. It is a late Gothic hall style church which was built between 1453 and 1537. It was built on the site of an earlier Romanesque church from 1200. Inside you can still see the original main altar, which was added in 1479, and created by Michael Wolgemut. The font and pulpit are also of note, dating from 1538 by Paul Speck. Michael Heuffner’s Holy Tomb from 1507 is also located inside. The exterior is very ornate. Concerts are often held here.
