The curiously-named Sammlung Dr. Irmgard von Lemmers-Danforth is a lovely little museum in the southern part of Wetzlar’s old town, situated in an old mansion. It houses a wonderful collection of Renaissance and Baroque furniture from around Europe – the collection of Dr. Lemmers-Danforth. The items have much historical value, and include ceramics, works of gold and silver, and many works of art. These cover all tastes, uses and styles, and many come from renowned craft centres around Europe. Open most days, with a small entrance fee.
