The Famous German composer Robert Schumann was born in Zwickau in June 1810. His birthplace on Hauptmarkt is now the Schumann-Haus Museum. The museum tells the story of his life, through its various phases. Rooms are decorated and scattered with documents, musical instruments and furnishings from the era. Areas include the Youth Room, Bachelor Room, Married Room, Dresden Years, as well as rooms of instruments and family heirlooms. There is a small entrance fee, and concerts of Schumann’s music are occasionally held here.
