The brick-built Marktkirche, or Market Church, of Wiesbaden is the tallest structure in the city. Its tower stands 92 metres tall and can be seen for miles around. The church, which stands in the centre of the town on the Schlossplatz, was originally built as a Gothic Revival basilica in 1862 by Karl Boos. It has three naves inside, and in front of the church stands a memorial to William I the Silent, Prince of Orange.
