The Magnuskirche in Worms was built in the 8th- to 9th centuries and is one of the oldest churches in the area. It was, however, extended over the years, and sadly damaged during World War 2. Subsequently rebuilt and restored, it was reopened in 1952. The Magnuskirche was an early Protestant church, and thus after the Reformation it became a leading church in the new ways of religion from 1521. Underneath the church the original crypt from 800AD can still be visited.
