Heiligengrabe is a small village located 6 miles west of Wittstock. The main attraction here is the Cistercian Abbey. The Gothic church complex was built in the 14th century. In recent years it has undergone extensive restoration to bring it back to its former glory. The Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre from 1512 is worth seeing. It is a timber framed building and has a sculpted gable. The abbey today promotes retreats and its Christian women community. It is open as a tourist attraction, however.
