Alongside the Lottehaus Museum in Wetzlar is the Stadt und Industrie Museum. This is the city’s history museum, covering from when it was a Free Imperial City including all the historic events and people. It then goes on to chronicle the history of the iron and optical industries in the town – especially the development of the 35mm camera by Oskar Barnack, and subsequent camera manufacturing in the town. It is open most days, for a small entrance fee.
