Walsrode Bird park (Vogelpark Walsrode) is located 12 miles south of Soltau. This is an ideal park for nature and bird lovers, with over 1,000 different species of birds from every corner of the earth in residence. Particular favourites are the birds of paradise, and the penguin enclosure. Visitors can wander the towers and tree houses to get a fantastic view over the park and its inhabitants. The park also holds seminars and workshops for those interested.
