Schneeburg City Hall
Markt, Schneeberg 08289 - Germany

Map

Schneeberg’s city hall (Rathaus) was built from 1527 to 1548, and stands on the market place. It was destroyed in the city fire of 1719, but rebuilt the following year. Another fire in 1851 meant another rebuild, this time in a neo Gothic style. Inside, the stuccoed ceilings are of note, and the entrance portal has a sandstone relief. The building has a tall white tower overlooking the square. The building is still used for administrative purposes.
