Schloss Burg is a 12th century castle located alongside the Wupper River near Remscheid. It was formerly the home of the von Berg family. It was involved in sieges during the Thirty Years’ War and partially destroyed. The castle has been rebuilt many times over the years. In 1890 architect Gerhard Fischer rebuilt it according to old plans. Today the castle houses a museum which covers the history of the castle, the ancestral art gallery, the Knights’ Hall, and the castle chapel. Regular medieval fayres and events are held at the castle.
