Soest’s Rathaus, or Town Hall, is the only Baroque building surviving in the town. It is located on the Domplatz in the oldest part of town. It is still involved in the administration of the city, and in the archives here are two copies of the “Sachsenspiegel” medieval German laws, and the original Soest municipal charter. The town hall is not generally open for tours or public access, other than on official business.
