The Museum of Bergmännische Folklore and Art is located in the centre of Schneeberg’s in Saxony. The building dates from 1725 and covers 700 square meters of display space. The museum shows many artefacts of the people of this region, with focus on customs and folklore, and the mining industry here. Stories of individual miners are also told. Special exhibitions show the technology used in mining, and also the history of book painting with many examples. The museum is closed on Mondays.
