The Municipal Museum in Rosenheim opened in 1895 and contains over 4000 articles. It’s 23 rooms contain local history information and artefacts ranging from the period of Roman colonization to the 1950’s. A new department opened in 1995 detailing the 20th century and covering the major historical landmarks, for example the Nazi uprising, world wars and economic situation in Germany in the post-war period. Frequent special exhibitions and the well stocked museum shop make this museum a must-see in Rosenheim.
