The large market hall in the centre of Stuttgart was built between 1912 and 1914 on the site of a previous market. It is built in an Art Nouveau style, with large frescoes adorning its walls, and is considered one of the best examples of its type in Europe. It is still in use today, selling all manner of fruit and vegetables to the public. There is also a restaurant and café in the building.
