Saarbrücken’s Ludwigskirche (Church of St. Louis) is considered a masterpiece, and one of the best examples of a baroque Protestant church in Germany. It was built by architect Stengel and completed in 1775. However, it was unfortunately badly damaged in World War 2 and later meticulously restored. From the church you have views to the opposite bank of the Saar river. Although not holding regular services any more, the church is still open and group tours can be arranged on request.
