The Hölderlinturm is a tower standing on the banks of the Neckar river in Tübingen. It was made famous as the German poet Hölderlin lived here from 1807 until his death. The tower is open to the public most days, where displays on the poet’s life can be seen and the history of the tower taken in. Originally the tower served a military purpose as part of Tübingen’s defenses, from the 13th century.
