Stavenhagen’s old town hall (Rathaus) is now the Fritz Reuter Literature Museum. This German writer was born here, and the museum now tells the story of his life and works, and the worldwide empire that became Reuters. As well as all the usual documents, photographs and examples of work, the museum hold regular temporary exhibitions and literature events throughout the year. The museum is open most days, and guided tours can be arranged.
