Trier’s Stadtbibliothek is the municipal library of the city. It houses many collections of books and documents considered of importance. The collections were gathered and placed here in the 19th century, taking in many items from monastic libraries which had closed down. Naturally it houses one of the first Gutenberg printed Bibles, and also 74 miniatures of the Trier Apocalypse from 800AD. The building itself is not of much significance.
