One of the fine historic mansions in central Rüdesheim is the Brömserhof – a half timbered building which was built in 1559. Today it is a museum and houses a wonderful exhibition of mechanical musical instruments. The prize exhibit is a carillon of bells made of Meissen porcelain. Another example of these rings from the tower of the Drosselgasse castle every hour. The museum is open most days and has a small entrance fee. It is an excellent was to see inside this old building.
