The Pinakothek der Moderne is Europe’s largest museum of art and design. It was opened in 2002 opposite the Alte Pinakothek and houses four main galleries, covering Architecture, Art, Design and Work on Paper. All work is from 20th century to the present. The museum completes the collection of galleries in this part of Munich to create a world-class area of culture.
