Olympiapark was created for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. It is a popular area of sport and recreation. Towering over the park is the Olympiaturm standing at 290m. It has a restaurant and observation deck, both with excellent views. The 78,000 seat stadium on site still holds many sporting and music events (along with the Olympic Hall, also on site). Other features of the park are an Ice Sport Centre, Swimming Centre, and Walk of Stars where many celebrities have been immortalised by putting their hand print in concrete. Stars range from Jon Bon Jovi to the Dali Lama.
