The huge Romanesque Dom in Minden has a fantastic west façade and two towers attached to the main building, which tower over the rest of the town. The original Gothic church, which can still be found forming the main hall building of the cathedral, was constructed in the 13th century. It has large, detailed windows letting in plenty of light. Inside, the bronze Minden Crucifix is of particular note, although it is a copy of the original (now held in the Schatzkammer opposite the cathedral). The remnants of a number of friezes and other works of art can also be seen.
