The Market Square, or Markt, in central Paderborn is a large open area outside the Dom cathedral. It is lined with many beautiful Baroque houses, as well as the Gaukirche. Most of Paderborn’s main sights are within easy walking distance from this square. It is also a great place to relax at a café or bar whilst watching the world go by – particularly in finer weather. In the centre of the square are impressive fountains with figures in the centre.
