The Marienkirche in Neubrandenburg has had an interesting and turbulent past. Almost 800 years old, it was one of the main churches in the old town and an impressive building of status. In World War 2 bombing raids, a fire left the building as a ruined shell. It was left this way for many years, before it was decided to restore the building. Today it stands proud and strong. It is now a concert venue with a state-of-the-art interior. Many different artists and events are held here each year.
