The Lustheim Palace was built alongside the Old Schleißheim Palace in 1685 by Elector Max Emanuel as a hunting lodge. It was built to commemorate his marriage to Maria Antonia, and is complete with its own garden. Inside frescoes by Francesco Rosa, Giovanni Trubillo and Johann Anton Gumpp were put up in honour of Diana – the goddess of hunting. Visitors can also see the world-famous Meißen porcelain collection inside, second only in importance to the Dresden collection.
