Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit) is a 14th century Gothic church in Munich. It can be found alongside the Viktualienmarkt. The building was altered in the 1720s to take on the new baroque tastes. Inside you will find the fine wooden sculpture of the Hammerthal Mother of God which dates from 1450 and was brought here from the Lake Tegernsee monastery. A pair of Adoring Angels adorn the high altar. As with most buildings, it was damaged in World War 2, but has been lovingly restored.
