The Deutsches Museum presents Flugwerft Schleißheim at the Oberschleißheim Airfield north of Munich. The airfield dates from 1913 and has a number of historic buildings once used by the Royal Bavarian Flying Corps. In 1990 the large hangar was restored to house the Museum’s aviation collection. Visitors can wander the exhibitions of propeller, piston, jet, sailplane, helicopter and hang glider aircraft, as well as a number of rockets. Guided tours are available.
