The Schlosspark (Castle Garden) in Neustrelitz is one of the attractions in the old town. Although the castle which stood here until 1945 has now completely disappeared, the gardens are still intact and well-presented. They were laid out in an English garden style by Peter Joseph Lenné in the early 1700s. An Orangerie was built in 1755 to house the plants in winter. This still survives, and has an ornate interior. The gardens are a relaxing attraction in Neustrelitz.
