The Stadtkirche church in Jever is situated on the Neuer Markt square in the centre of the town. It is a large church dominating the area. It has been standing over 900 years, yet remarkably has burnt down nine times in that period. Most recently was in 1959, when it was rebuilt in its current design. Inside, parts from the originals remain, including the funerary monument by Floris in honour of Edo Wiemkem the Younger. This church is a remarkable work of architecture because of its unusual history.
