Schloß Brake is a moated castle palace in Lemgo built in the Renaissance style. It features a six storey tower where private apartments were accessed by a secret staircase. The castle houses the Weserrenaissance Museum which displays furniture, paintings, and sculptures from the Renaissance period inside the castle’s stately rooms. The best-known works in the collection are Lazarus Before the Rich Man’s House, and Christ Driving the Traders from the Temple, by Hans Vredeman de Vries. There is a restaurant at the museum, and educational events and displays.
