The Rathaus, or Town Hall, in Kalkar is an impressive structure fronting the market square. It is a gothic brick building dating from 1545 with a central octagonal clock tower and turreted walls. It is regarded as one of the most impressive Middle Ages buildings in the region. Sadly the building is still only used for city administrative duties and offices. There is no public access or tours available.
