The Münsterland Museum is situated in the moated Burg Vischering castle at Lüdinghausen. The wasserburg style castle has a central courtyard with an octagonal tower and oriel window. It was modified around 1620 in the Renaissance style. The museum hosted inside the castle covers folklore and life in medieval castles with many exhibits and informative displays. There is also information on traditional farming and history of the towns in the region. In the grounds of the castle are a number of rare tree species – including a trumpet tree.
