In the grounds of the impressive Renaissance palace Schloss Brake, there are two restored mills and the former miller’s house. These form the Mühlenmuseum, or Mill Museum, which has separate entry to the museum at the palace. The mills on site were formerly an oil mill from 1806 and a sawing mill from 1831. The museum demonstrates the functions and workings of these mills, and what they produced. It also goes into the history of the Mühler family who owned and operated them.
