One of the follies in the grounds of the Wilhelmshöhe’s Schlosspark in Kassel is the Löwenburg. This large fake ruin was built to resemble an old medieval castle, with portcullis and drawbridge. It was built between 1793 and 1801. Inside it has displays of genuine medieval weapons and armour. The Löwenburg is open to the public most days of the week. Guided tours are offered. There is an entrance fee.
