The Städtisches Heimatmuseum in Lippstadt is the town’s main historical and municipal museum. It is situated in a wonderful gabled house from the 17th century and is full of exhibitions telling the history of the town from pre- and early history times to the present. The exhibitions include the history of Lippstadt, religious art and crafts, home furnishings from the 18th and 19th centuries, and a large collection of items relating to North Rhine-Westphalia. It is open most days and has a small admission fee.
