The Junkerhaus in Lemgo is a fantastic example of eccentric architecture. Situated on Hamelner Strasse, this house was built by local architect and sculptor Karl Junker, who wanted to create the perfect house. In doing so, he created a sight to behold in this ornate building which looks like something from a fairytale. Built in 1891, Junker worked on every part of the building. The interior is lined with wood carvings and even furniture created by the sculptor. It has lead many to label the building as the House of Horror. The Junkerhaus has undergone extensive restoration, and is open to the public.
