Located in the small Schloss Bellevue palace in central Kassel is the Brothers Grimm Museum (Brüder Grimm Museum). The Brothers Grimm, famous for their fairytales and folklore, were born in Hanau, however they lived in Kassel between 1798 and 1830. This museum opened in 1960, devoted to the brothers and their stories. Most of the books by the brothers can be found here in first edition form, and visitors will learn all about their upbringing, inspiration, and lives.
