In the grounds of the Wilhelmshöhe is the Bergpark. This was originally the palace’s ornamental garden and has been fully restored and opened to the public. It features a cascading waterfall running 250 metres and with 885 tiers, which is quite a site. Alongside it is the Herkules – the symbol of Kassel. This is a unique pyramidal structure which features a statue of Hercules atop. Often the water will flow over the waterfall at set times during the week, and fuelling the large jet of water outside the palace. The Herkules has an entrance fee.
