Another place to get great views over Hann. Münden and its sea of red rooftops is the Tillyschanze, set in forest on a hill outside the town. This is a tower built originally in 1626, however it was rebuilt in its current form in the 19th century. It was built specifically as an observation tower as part of the city’s defences. Today it is an observation tower because of its stunning views. To reach the Tillyschanze, head over the Pionierbrücke bridge.
