The Oriental Carpet Museum in Hannover may seem an unlikely tourist attraction, yet this collection is quite remarkable - spanning over 100 different objects from the past 500 years. The museum is situated above the carpet shop of the owner. Among the collections are carpets from Afghanistan, China, India, Iran, Poland, Russia, and Turkey. There is also an Islamic carpet and textiles collection on display. To top off the exhibition, there are many books, ceramics, documents and embroidery works on display.
