The Museum for Arts and Crafts (Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe) in Hamburg is situated on Steintorplatz in a fine old building. It exhibits items covering areas such as Europe, the Renaissance, Baroque period, musical instruments, Art Nouveau, as well as a Japanese tea house. The latter occasionally holds traditional ceremonies. In the Europe area, you will find items displayed in chronological order from medieval times – the most prized possession being a bronze reliquary chest, and a carving of Madonna and Child. The musical instruments area covers the history of keyboards. The Art Nouveau section has two interiors purchased from the Paris World Expo of 1900. A major attraction in Hamburg.
