Hameln’s Market Place is a lovely square worth spending some time exploring. There are plenty of opportunities to find places to eat, drink and shop here, and it’s a good base for exploring the town. At either side of the square is a carillon, which enacts the Piper’s two visits to Hameln using colourful figures three times every afternoon. Also here is the Marktkirche church, ad the Dempterhaus, which is a wonderful old house.
