The Renaissance style Liesthaus in Hameln was built in the late 16th century for a local merchant and his family. Mason Cord Tönnies built the house. On the exterior, you will see various statues, including Lucretia above an oriel window, and below the Seven Christian Virtues. Next door is the Stiftsherrenhaus, which also has various figures – this time the Apostles, along with other deities. This mix of religious and secular was popular at the time.
