A lovely house in central Fritzlar, known as the Hochzeitshaus (wedding house) houses the town’s Regional Museum. It was built in 1590, and is a Renaissance style half-timbered building. The museum covers the history and folklore of Fritzlar and its surroundings. Amongst the museum’s collections is an exhibition of prehistoric items and artefacts, and a set of cast-iron stoves and roof tiles. There is also a library of books and volumes relating to Fritzlar. There is an entrance fee. Guided tours can be arranged in advanced.
