Parts of the Leisthaus and most of the Stiftsherrnhaus are used as the Museum of Hameln. This museum is the place to learn about the town and its history. Among the collections on display are many items of religious art, including a set of statues of the Apostles, and the Siebenlingsstein, which commemorates the birth of septuplets in 1600. Visitors can also enjoy numerous old documents and photographs, and items of local folklore and culture. The museum is open most days.
