Standing on the Market Square of Güstrow is the impressive Town Hall (Rathaus) building. It is still the centre of life in the town, much as it has been since it was constructed in the 1300s. It was rebuilt after a fire in 1503, and also redeveloped in the 18th century. Today the building is painted in a soft pink colour, along with greys and reds. The city’s coat of arms can also be seen on the façade. Should you have reason to go inside, you will see many fine interiors to the rooms and halls.
