The Pfarrkirche church in Güstrow is situated off the Market Square in the centre of the old town. It is a Gothic building dating from 1308, although it was rebuilt in 1508. It is worth stepping inside to see the wonderful interior furnishings – the highlight of which is the main altar which dates from the 16th century. It includes scenes of the Passion inside, and colourful paintings on the outside by the court painter to the Habsburgs. The church is still in use and welcomes visitors.
