Greizer Park is the main recreation and park space in Greiz. It is a popular open space full of flora and grass areas, enjoyed by locals and tourists alike. The park started as a kitchen garden for the Oberes Schloss, and underwent various transformations into a Rococo garden, and then a Romantic English Garden style park. Its current appearance dates from the 1870s. Visitors can enjoy long walkways past the 18th century Rotunde memorial and the Schwanenhaus timbered house on the island in the lake. Many of the trees in the park were imported from outside Europe.
